JMI Singers

JMI is honoured to be part of the Brisbane Vocal Jazz festival that provides a platform of exposure for the burgeoning group of talented jazz singers in this city.

jmiBased in Brisbane, Jazz Music Institute (JMI) is a specialist jazz school that has continued to deliver courses in jazz since 1997.  JMI has a high reputation throughout Australia as one of the best jazz schools, producing graduates with the musical, business and pedagogical skills needed to thrive in the music industry.

All courses offered at JMI, (from Certificate to Bachelor level), are fully government accredited and are delivered by experienced and enthusiastic lecturers who have performed around the world with some of the biggest contemporary names in jazz.

The JMI vocal students showcase will feature:

Vocalists: Tenille West, Grace Cockburn, Chantelle Smith and James Halloran.

Accompanied by the JMI student band: Ben Van Jole – piano, Julian Seto-Payne – guitar, Blake Lonie – bass, Sam Castan – drums

JMI also runs its own live jazz venue – JMI LIVE! – where students and community alike come together in an intimate setting reminiscent of New York jazz clubs, to witness and partake in quality jazz performances.
