Denise Harris

Born in Holland, Denise moved to Australia with her family as a 6 year old, moving again to New Zealand where she grew up.

She became a busy session singer and then as a solo artist, recorded extensively with Radio New Zealand, appearing regularly on Television New Zealand.

Musicians she worked with include her late husband, pianist/arranger & composer Alan Slater and Julian Lee, Mike (Spike) Walker, guitarists Martin and Rob Winch, Kevin Watson, bassists Paul Dyne and the late Andy Brown, drummers Roger Sellers, Frank Gibson Jr, Tony Hopkins and many visiting international artists.

Denise and Alan moved to Queensland in 1989. She has sung at Ronnie Scott’s in London, at international Jazz Festivals in Holland, New Zealand and Australia.

Denise has appeared on Channel 9 Australia, at Soup Plus, and The Basement in Sydney and jazz venues in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast.  Denise has performed with many jazz greats including George Golla, Don Burrows, Steve Russell, Helen Russell, Andrew Shaw, Paul Hudson, Jim Kelly, Dave Fennell, John Reeves and the late Vince Genova.

Denise currently lives on the Sunshine Coast.
