The iconic Jazz Singers’ Jam Night (JSJN) has become an important voice in Brisbane in its role as the longest running continuous jam night in Australia, if not globally. JSJN is produced and presented by leading jazz singer and educator, Ingrid James. The Brisbane Jazz Club commends the JSJN as one of the best attended nights each month at the Club and it never fails to enchant! Tonight, we are honoured to celebrate our 19th Anniversary with a stellar band featuring John Reeves (piano), Jeremy O’Connor (bass) and Aaron Jansz (drums). The singers include: Craig Burnett, Merryn Holder, Paul Armstrong, Sharny Russell, Sarah Collyer, Penny Connolly-Coates, Naomi Doessel, Sophie Moman, Tnee Dyer….

Justin Stephenson presents a tribute to the greats of scat singing and the art of vocalese. Pushing the boundaries of the voice, Justin explores the versatility of his instrument by paying homage to some of the greatest jazz vocalists of all time. Featuring the music of Louis Armstrong, Jon Hendricks, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Kurt Elling, Bobby McFerrin, George Benson and many more.

Accompanied by the Steve Newcomb Trio, some of Brisbane’s finest musicians, this is a show not to be missed!

Last year, we paid homage to some amazing legendary singers with a sell-out audience at the Brisbane Vocal Jazz Festival. Back by popular demand for the third year in a row, is the marvellous Kings and Queens of Jazz. With the Dave Spicer Trio feat. Andrew Shaw (bass) and Paul Hudson (drums), 6 sensational singers will take you on a fascinating journey!

SHORT DESCRIPTION: In celebration of the music of some of Brazil’s legendary composers and performers, three of Brisbane’s finest Brazilian music artists, Lucia Medeiros, Eddie Gazani and Anje West, bring to life the music of Elis Regina, Tom Jobim, Joyce Moreno, Joao Donato, Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso with a superb band featuring OJ Newcomb (bass), Lachlan Hawkins (drums) and Kym Ambrose (vibes). Come and enjoy this beautiful closing Sunset Festival Session with wine and cheese overlooking our glorious Brisbane River.
