Brazilian Lucia Medeiros celebrates the life and music of Elis Regina, who was one of the most popular Brazilian singers and is frequently regarded as the greatest Brazilian singer of all time.
Also known as “Pimentinha” (little pepper) or “Furacao” (hurricane), Elis would deliver perfect renditions of carefully selected songs, where emotion would pour through her voice, touching and captivating millions of fans in Brazil and abroad. Her premature and tragic death, at age 36, left millions of “musical orphans” and still today, her popularity is kept alive through her huge legacy (29 albums recorded in 18 years of career) while her voice still fascinates fans all over the planet.
Lucia will revisit some of the great songs that highlighted Elis Regina’s career, as well as give you an insight into the life of this vibrant, charismatic and versatile artist, whose unique character and style gave a new definition to the modern Brazilian Popular Music.
After the huge success of the show Elis Forever in 2015, 2016 and 2019 (and a joint tribute to Maria Rita – Elis’ daughter in 2017 and 2018), Lucia brings this tribute show again to the Brisbane Jazz Club, for another night of good stories and great music.
